PFM-2 Pump Flow Meter is designed to test the delivery performance of high pressure Common Rail pumps on test bench. PFM-2 allows simultaneous measurement of delivery and back leak of tested pump.Included RPM sensor enables to display the value of flows in relation to the number of pump revolutions. Thanks to unique technology, it is not necessary to use additional filters at the device inputs as the device is resistant to contamination.PFM-2 can be connected to PC or laptop via USB connection. The included software allows the user to visualize flow rates on graph as well as perform pump tests based on built-in pump test database. After testing the report can be printed showing measured pump performance.
In accordance with the standards of injector performance measurements, standard temperature of fuel (calibration oil) on test bench is 40°C +/- 2°C. However, the temperature of fuel entering flowmeter should be below 40°C. Such conditions require using aprorpriate fuel cooler (contact us for details).

PFM-2 – FAQ
I lost my software CD. How can I get the PC program?
The software for the device can be downloaded after prior registration and logging in to our website: https://dte.com.pl/en/my-data/.
I have a problem with installing the driver under Windows 10/11?
In the case of Windows 10/11, the system automatically installs the system’s serial port driver. To properly communicate with the flowmeter software, you must force the installation of a driver from DTE. Details can be found in the Manual bundled with the current software that can be downloaded after prior registration and logging in to our website: https://dte.com.pl/en/my-data/.
My device stopped communicating with my computer after Windows 10 update.
Users have reported instances of resetting the driver to the default serial port after updating Windows. In this case, force the driver installation again. Details can be found in the Manual bundled with the current software that can be downloaded after prior registration and logging in to our website: https://dte.com.pl/en/my-data/.
Does the PFM-2 control the high pressure pump?
The device measures the output of the pump (by measuring the overflow from the rail pressure control valve), which must be driven and controlled by an external device. In order to build a pump test bench, it is necessary to have a test bench that allows to set pressure on the CR pump. If you have a table that does not support CR pumps, you can use the TCR-4 tester to control the operation of the Common Rail pump.
How to ensure the right fuel temperature?
To perform measurements, it is necessary to ensure a stable fuel temperature at the input to the device at a level below 40°C. In the case of operated pumps with flow rates below 2000 ml / min. a cooler of an appropriate size is required (dimensions similar to that of a small car engine) with a fan.
Is the flowmeter resistant to fuel contamination?
The design of the device allows for the occasional passing of small metal particles (e.g. filings from a damaged pump) in the fuel without adversely affecting the device. Of course, larger items may clog the tubes or measurement sensors. Chemical hazards in the form of aggressive agents added to the fuel, e.g. for cleaning injectors, are a greater threat than metal particles. When testing injection elements, use calibration oil according to ISO 4113. The oil must be changed regularly. The use of regular diesel fuel containing bioadditives in a closed cycle for a long time may damage the injection elements and the flow meter. Under these conditions, bacterial growth may occur, leading to the formation of deposits that are difficult or impossible to remove from the device, and may interfere with the measurement.
