The TCR-4 tester is designed to diagnose common rail injection systems. It is used to read the value from the high-pressure sensor and control two pressure control valves at once.
It can be used both to read the pressure and control the control valves in the car as well as to diagnose high-pressure pumps on the test bench. It is necessary to monitor the pressure in the tank by which it is possible to make a proper assessment of the condition of the high-pressure pump.
The tester can also be used to monitor fuel pressure in Fsie injection systems. Tester functions:
1. Sensor range
This function allows you to enter the value of the maximum operating pressure (Pmax) of the high pressure sensor that is used in the car under test.
2. circuit test
When this function is selected, the continuity of the following circuits is checked:
– high pressure sensor circuit
– valve 1 circuit
– valve 2 circuit
For the continuity test of individual circuits, the tester is able to give an answer as to whether the circuit responds correctly to the specified test signal.
In the case of the high pressure sensor circuit test, a correct result does not give absolute certainty about its trouble-free operation over the entire range of operating pressures up to Pmax pressure. Complete certainty can be obtained by observing the pressure sensor reading while the engine is running.
3. Pump test.
The pump test provides an actual high pressure reading, control of up to two pressure control valves, and administration of parameters available in additional functions.
3.1.
High pressure reading
Current pressure reading read by high pressure sensor.
3.2 Additional functions
– function (a) – pressure pulsation – this is the value of the maximum pressure change in a certain time interval,
– function (b) – maximum pressure value – this is the maximum value that the pressure has reached from the beginning of the measurement or from the moment of its zeroing by any change in the position of the adjustment potentiometer,
– function (c) – pressure value to be stabilized by valve 1 – this is the set pressure value that the tester tries to keep constant by adjusting the control signal of valve 1. This value is changed using an adjustment potentiometer. The accuracy of the changes can be adjusted by pressing the appropriate button.
– function (d) – the pressure value to be stabilized with valve 2 – this is the set value that the tester tries to keep constant by adjusting the control signal of valve 2. This value is changed using an adjustment potentiometer. The accuracy of the changes can be adjusted by pressing the corresponding button.
3.3 Change of valve control 1
The change of the control signal is performed by the adjustment potentiometer. The accuracy of the changes can be adjusted by pressing the corresponding button.
3.4 Change of valve control 2
The change of the control signal is performed by the adjustment potentiometer. The accuracy of the changes can be adjusted by pressing the appropriate button.
ICR-4 tester
– Application of the tester
The ICR-4 tester is used to control electromagnetic and piezoelectric injectors found in common rail injection systems. Up to four injectors of a given type can be controlled at once. The signal generated by the tester that controls the injectors corresponds to the signal occurring in the car engine controller.
