Ideal for:
- Battery vendors,
- Importers and distributors of batteries,
- Automotive workshops,
- Car dealers,
- Battery-powered vehicle services.
Features and capabilities
The battery tester allows you to safely measure the voltage, determine the starting current, assess the state of charge and indicate the degree of wear of 6V and 12V batteries. The device is powered by an internal battery, so it can test discharged batteries, and can also be conveniently used as a voltmeter. The test of the car’s installation gives advanced diagnosis of the charging and starting system in systems
- 12V,
- 24V
- and 6V.
The measured voltage waveforms are presented in the form of graphs. The device records the results of the measurements, marking them with the date and time and optionally the vehicle registration number. Capacious memory provides a record of many hundreds of measurements. The results can be seen on the display as well as the dedicated software. To summarize:
Types of battery tests:
- current voltage,
- inrush current,
- A graphical percentage summary of the battery’s status and charge level,
- Recommendations for the battery (charge, replace, urgently replace).
You will perform tests on batteries:
- EFB (reinforced)
- AGM / VRLA ( maintenance-free)
- SLI (standard, lead-acid).
Inrush current can be specified according to one of five standards:
- EN: from 40 A to 2000 A
- SAE: 40 A to 2000 A
- DIN: from 30 A to 1200 A
- IEC: from 30 A to 1200 A
- CCA from 40 A to 2000 A

List of measurements
Included PC software:
- The DBT-12+ tester comes with intuitive PC software for convenient viewing of measurement results. The software allows:
- Report Printing: Ability to generate and print detailed measurement reports in A4 format using a standard computer printer. This allows workshops to provide customers with professionally prepared documents confirming the condition of the battery.
- Remote print order: Wireless WiFi connectivity allows you to instantly order a printout of a report after a measurement is completed, greatly improving your work in the workshop.
- Measurement archiving: The program offers the ability to archive all measurements taken, allowing you to easily manage your test history and quickly access the data in the future.
- Customer database: The tool allows you to maintain a customer database and assign measurement results to specific customers. This allows garages to track battery service history for each customer individually.

Additional features of our battery tester:
- Voltage recording mode: The device offers a voltage-recording mode that allows hours of battery voltage measurement. With this feature, workshops can:
- Detection of self-activation of receivers: By monitoring the voltage for an extended period of time, it is possible to detect instances when receivers in the vehicle spontaneously turn on and discharge the battery.
- Verification of the charging process: It also allows you to accurately track the battery charging process with the charger, so you can evaluate the efficiency and correctness of the process.

Step-by-step battery test with DBT 12+:
To test the battery with the DBT-12+ tester, follow these steps:
Step 1: Preparing for the Test
- Checking the Battery:
- Make sure the battery is in good physical condition – no cracks, electrolyte leaks or visible damage,
- Clean the battery terminals of corrosion and dirt,
- You do not need to remove the battery from the vehicle.
- Remember the precautions
Step 2: Connecting the Tester
- Connecting Clamps:
- Connect the red clip to the positive (+) terminal of the battery,
- Connect the black clip to the negative (-) terminal of the battery,
- If you connect in reverse you will get a message about incorrect polarity.
- Make sure the clips are securely fastened and make good contact with the battery terminals. The tester will display a message if the connection is improper or weak.
Step 3: Select Test Mode
- Test Mode Selection:
- Select “Battery Test” from the main menu using the navigation buttons.
- You can also select “Quick Test.”
- Battery Type Selection:
- Enter the optional car registration number,
- Specify the type of battery under test (SLI, AGM, VRLA, EFB). Selecting the type of battery allows the device to perform the test more accurately.
Step 4: Conduct the Test
- Introduction Battery Parameter Standards:
- Select the standard by which it is specified (EN, SAE, DIN, IEC, CCA),
- Select the inrush current rating,
- Enter the temperature of the battery.
- Starting the Test:
- Press the “Start” button to start the test. The DBT-12+ tester will perform several tests, including a test of the current voltage, inrush current and internal resistance of the battery.
- Reading Results:
- Once the test is complete, the results will be displayed on the tester’s screen. Results include:
- Current battery voltage,
- Measured inrush current values,
- Percentage of battery charge,
- Suggestion of battery condition: good/poor,
- Very precise reading of the results in the computer program.
- Once the test is complete, the results will be displayed on the tester’s screen. Results include:
Step 5: Save and Print Results
- Recording Results:
- The DBT-12 tester automatically saves the results of recent tests, which can be viewed at a later time on a computer.
- Printing Results:
- If the tester is equipped with WiFi which allows direct printing to a printer.
- Sending Results:
- The results can also be emailed with the help of a computer application.
Step 6: Analysis and Action
- Analysis of Results:
- Analyze the test results and take appropriate action as recommended by the tester. This may include recharging the battery, replacing it or further diagnostics on the vehicle.
- Informing the Customer:
- Provide the customer with the test results and recommendations for further action, including any service needs.
