The SIT-12 tester is a portable device that measures the electrical (pompo-) parameters of injectors. Thanks to the customized combination of the ability to perform all electrical measurements in one tester, it is possible to quickly diagnose faults.
Measurements of small resistances with a resolution of milliohms along with the determination of inductance allow checking coils in injectors. By measuring capacitance and resistance, piezo stacks can be checked.

For any type of injector: whether electromagnetic or piezoelectric, it is possible to measure insulation at high voltage – a maximum of 500V.
Due to its compact size, resistance measurement corresponding to the range of efficient piezoelectric stacks is performed at low voltage. This measurement, together with a measurement of the insulation of the heated injector, allows a preliminary assessment of its efficiency.

Technical specifications:
– Resistance measurement: 0 – 5Ω and 8 – 1050kΩ
– Capacitance measurement: 0 – 5μF or 0 – 50μF
– Inductance measurement: 0 – 800μH
– Measurement of insulation under voltage with three values: 100, 250 and 500V (indication range depends on voltage, max 1400MΩ)
– Power supply: built-in battery
– Automatic shutdown (after 10 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours – user selectable)

Operating time: at least 6h after a full charge.

SIT-12

  1. Will the SIT-12 device measure the resistance of the piezoelectric stack of the injector?

The SIT-12 tester measures resistance in two ranges. The higher one, ranging from 8kΩ to 1050kΩ, is intended for the measurement of the piezoelectric stack.

  1. Is the piezo stack resistance measured under high voltage in the SIT-12 device? Is it possible to regulate the voltage?

Piezoelectric stack resistance is measured with low voltage, below 5V that cannot be changed. The test voltage is only selected in the insulation test. However, this measurement is intended for ranges well in excess of the piezo resistance (typically 150 – 250kΩ).

  1. Can capacitance measurements taken with a different meter give a different indication?

The capacity of the piezo injector is not a “pure” capacity, therefore the measurements made with different instruments (methods) may give different results, or even no result. The principle of measuring capacity based on the charging time from a current source used in the SIT-12 is a universal method and widely used in laboratory bench multimeters.

  1. Can the data on the injector coil inductance be helpful in assessing the condition of the injector?

The data provided by various programs and manufacturers relates to their own test devices. In the case of inductance, despite giving the same result units (μH or mH), you must take measurement conditions into account. SIT-12 measures inductance at two frequencies. They are higher than those used usually by other manufacturers. Therefore, the results cannot be compared directly.

  1. The display contrast is low when the device is turned on.

Until the display of the logo is complete, the display may not have the optimal contrast. Only after switching to the menu list, the display has a stabilized contrast to the operating conditions (ambient temperature). The device does not have a contrast correction menu due to the built-in automatic contrast adjustment depending on the temperature.
