ScopeTester 5 five-channel oscilloscope tester
The ScopeTester 5 diagnostic analyzer is a five-channel oscilloscope tester that works with PCs. Unlike traditional oscilloscopes, it allows continuous recording of waveforms (with no dead times) which gives extraordinary diagnostic capabilities. The available measurement ranges allow measuring the voltages of circuits found in vehicles. These can include sensors, actuators, but also other accessories such as current clamps, capacitive and inductive probes, special diagnostic sensors, etc.

Description
The ScopeTester 5 diagnostic analyzer is a five-channel oscilloscope tester that works with PCs. Unlike traditional oscilloscopes, it allows continuous recording of waveforms (with no dead times) which gives extraordinary diagnostic capabilities. The available measurement ranges allow measuring the voltages of circuits found in vehicles. These can include sensors, actuators, but also other accessories such as current clamps, capacitive and inductive probes, special diagnostic sensors, etc.

ScopeTester 5 allows you to record, depending on the settings, from 20 seconds to as much as 10 minutes of continuous running. This makes it much easier to detect even a short-term anomaly that may be the source of the problem. The real-time preview mode allows for shorter measurements when longer recording times are not needed, offering functionality similar to a classic oscilloscope.
A unique feature of the device is the ability to interpret popular signals used in automotive applications, such as PWM signals or the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) signal. This allows the user to work with a graph of the fill percentage or instantaneous speed of the motor (right) instead of the barely legible voltage waveforms (left).

Once the measurement file is saved, it can be reviewed and analyzed at any time without access to the vehicle under test. User-saved files can also be used as templates. Once a pattern is selected, it will be visible on a common graph with the current measurement, which allows for easy and convenient comparison.

An additional five-channel multimeter mode with minimum/maximum function allows you to conveniently and quickly measure voltages, currents (using clamps or shunt), frequency and fill factors of PWM signals.

ScopeTester 5 – FAQ
I lost my software CD. How can I get the program?
The software for the device can be downloaded after prior registration and logging in to our website: https://dte.com.pl/en/my-data/
How to install Scope Tester 5 on Windows 10/11?
We install the software as usual using the installer. When installing the driver, follow the necessary steps described in detail in the Manual. The manual with the current software and driver can be be obtained after prior registration and logging in to our website: https://dte.com.pl/en/my-data/
Can I use my own current clamps?
The device works with any current clamps, also with a non-standard current/voltage converter. It is needed to set required clamp gain by selecting from the list or by entering a specific value in mV/A units.
Can I use a 1:10 probe?
Yes, but it should be a differential probe. You can use the available 1:10 adapters included in the set or use other specialized ones, designed for differential inputs.
The waveform ‘jumps’ on the screen, is this normal?
ScopeTester 5, unlike classic oscilloscopes, records waveforms in a continuous manner, performing the measurement without the so-called dead times. The available preview mode does not allow for triggering synchronization, therefore the waveforms are not stable in this mode.
There is a lot of noise in the waveform
To ensure complete safety of measurements, the device uses differential channels, thanks to which the BNC connector grounds are connected by high resistance only. However, it causes sensitivity to too high values of common voltages supplied to the input. Some laptop power adapters are the most common cause (not all models are affected). In case of problems, the solution is to disconnect the power supply for the duration of the measurement.
